Pitt Med’s Class of 2029 Begins Path to Patient-Centered Healing

During the last week of July 2025, the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine welcomed the Class of 2029 with a curated series of events aimed to prep them for the demands of medical school and equip them with the skills and knowledge to provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout their careers beyond Pitt Med. These 151 students represent the top applicants of the record-setting number—nearly 12,000—that applied. In their oath, the class pledged to democratize medical knowledge—empowering patients to make informed decisions—while remaining accountable and humble throughout their journey as students and future physicians.
