Pennsylvania Medical Society Honors Pitt Ophthalmology's Andrew Williams as a Top Physician Under 40

Andrew Williams, assistant professor of ophthalmology, School of Medicine, was announced as one of the Pennsylvania Medical Society’s (PAMED) Top Physicians Under 40, an honor that celebrates exceptional early-career physicians who are making significant contributions to the field of medicine. 

Williams was nominated by his peers and selected by a committee of PAMED members for his dedication to patient care, clinical excellence and commitment to advancing the future of health care. His work in ophthalmology reflects the values and innovation PAMED seeks to highlight through this prestigious award. 

“I take great pride in caring for patients with glaucoma—from medical management and laser procedures to minimally invasive glaucoma surgery and traditional glaucoma filtering procedures,” Williams said. 

To be eligible for the Top Physicians Under 40 awards, honorees must be PAMED members who are under the age of 40 and exemplify leadership and compassion in their respective specialties.
