I did research on growing human cartilage between my first and second years.

Between my first and second year, I did research in a bone and tissue engineering lab at Carnegie Mellon University. I got to interact with orthopedic and plastic surgery residents. It’s a consortium that pulls together different experts from all of the universities in the area. It’s really cutting edge research into the future of growing human cartilage, and testing different types of bone substitutes. I got to meet a lot of people and make connections. I'm still doing part-time research now because I like doing it and I know that being part of a published group and attending conferences will help me down the road.
