Don't be a deer in the headlights.

I think the key to interviewing is being relaxed. It’s all about being you. Be ready to have a conversation like you would with anyone else. Don’t be a deer in the headlights.

At Pitt, you’re interviewed by first year students. I liked that because I knew they were still close to the process. I don’t think many other schools do that. Some perspective students walk in and shoot from the hip but I prepared. I wrote down five things I thought they would ask and I practiced. I really appreciated how the administrators and faculty members went out of their way to treat us as real people. I really felt like I got a true sense of what the school and its philosophy was all about.
