I applied to 10 schools, looked hard at three or four and really came down to choosing between the University of Pittsburgh and one other. In the end, I felt that medical school was much more doable here. I liked the overall openness and supportive environment. I came back for second look weekend and had a terrific time. It was a big factor in my decision. But it was more than a gut feeling. I think the clincher for me was the clinical exposure that you can get herenot just in the first year but in years three and four. Only time and imagination limits the range of clinical electives and subspecialties.
