You study at your own pace, learn what you need to learn and leave it at that.

I was big on the pass/fail grading. That was a big part of why I came here. I was done with the pressure — I was sick of it. I wasn’t going to be gunning for grades anymore after 4 years. Pre-meds, in general, all have great grades, so you get used to going for the grades because it always seems like you need to. Around here there’s quite a bit to learn and a ton of work to be done but there’s not a lot of pressure to get the A or B – you just study at your own pace, learn what you need to learn and leave it at that.

And I also enjoyed the block curriculum – I like having one class at a time – it really allows you to focus whereas as an undergrad you’d have 4 or 5 different things going on at the same time. And then classes conflict – a bunch of different tests may be scheduled all together. This way you know where you have to be, when you have to be there, and you have to worry about one thing at a time. So I definitely enjoyed that.
