There's also a group of us that perform a cappella. We call ourselves the PalPittations.

My favorite part of Pittsburgh is the wholesale food area, the Strip District. There’s a group of us that loves to cook. We have a standing date to go there every couple of weeks and load up on fresh fruit and bread and whatever is on sale. If we’re not cooking, we’re going out to eat... French, Thai, Italian. But mostly we stay in and cook.

Pittsburgh can seem like a small town if you come from New York or Los Angeles, but for most people it has every possible diversion. It’s a city where you can get together in a group of 10 or 20 and still get seats together for Aida or a Dance Council performance. Some people in our class are in the Mendelssohn Choir so we’ve gotten a bunch of people together to watch them sing. There’s also a group of us that perform a cappella. We call ourselves the PalPittations. We just cut a CD and we perform at benefit shows and school events. It’s true what they say… you really can have a life outside of medical school.
