Welcome to the Interview Room
Take a seat, heres why we emphasize the interview
Practicing medicine involves a constant exchange of information.
You must be able to elicit information from a patient, consult with colleagues, and obtain
necessary support from a medical staff. Starting with your first day in medical school,
you will be asked to become an active listener and to communicate clearly.
No computer, standardized test or college transcript can reveal these essential skills. Thats why we place such importance on the interview process.
Current students play a lead role in the evaluations, as do key administrators, faculty and staff. We look forward to each interview with the same excitement as our candidates.

Your interview appointment
Please plan for a full schedule of activities on the day of the interview.
Your agenda will include:
Informational meeting with the Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, or the Assistant Director of Admissions and Financial Aid.
A tour of the medical school.
Lunch with current medical students.
Two interviews, one with a current medical student and one with a faculty member.
The interviews, scheduled for 45-60 minutes each, allow enough time for you to express
the depth and breadth of your life interests and experiences, your decision to pursue
a career in medicine, and your preparation for medical school.
